Following the example of the major events held in Italy, starting with the most famous, the Eroica, the event becomes an annual event for all fans of historic cycling .

A ciclostorica is a cycle-tourism event that recalls the cycling of the past, featuring vintage bicycles and clothing .

The participating bicycles have distinctive features such as steel frames, a gear shift lever mounted on the frame tube, and brake cables routed externally through the handlebars. All bicycles were built before 1987 , and the participants' clothing is also vintage.

The Ravenna stage is already included in the Giro d'Italia d'Epoca circuit, a series of events dedicated to vintage cycling, which brings together all of Italy's historic cycling races. The Giro stops in Italy's most beautiful locations and the places of heroic cycling, the cycling of the great champions of the past.

The Ciclostorica, due to its slow, non-competitive cycling tourism character, enhances the value of the territory and the protection of the landscape by highlighting the beauty of pristine places easily accessible only by two wheels. It also paves the way for an alternative form of tourism that has attracted considerable interest in recent years.
